What are Type P Passport in India ? Type P passports are regular passports which are issued to ordinary citizens of the country. The passport can be used to travel to foreign countries for personal trips, business trips, educational purposes, etc. In Type P passports, 'P' stands for 'personal'.
What does P mean on passport ?
It is, in fact, known as the Type P or P-Type passport, with "P" standing for "personal" . This passport can have either 36 or 60 pages. A P-type passport holder is not entitled to any special privileges. The passport is about the same size as an American passport.
What type of passport is type P ?
P-type passports are also known as ordinary/regular passports or personal passports. This type of passport is covered with a dark blue cover and is granted to individuals for ordinary travels, such as vacation.
How to apply for a Passport Type-P ?
To apply for a P-Type Passport (regular passport) a person will need to:
- Fill in a DS-11 application form
- Provide evidence of citizenship
- provide a government - issued photo ID (military ID or driver's license) to confirm the identity
- Take two copies of a passport photo in colour
- Pay a passport fee ($110)
- Schedule appointment for application submission (additional $35 have to be paid for acceptance agent fee)
