How to check Passport Status in India:

  • Visit the official passport website and select the'Track Your Application Status' tab.
  • From the drop-down menu, select the type of appliccation from among the options listed. 
  • Enter the 15-digit file number and your date of birth in the format precribed and click on 'track Status'.
What does passport dispatched mean?
The passport is dispatched by India post through Speed Post to the present address of the applicant as filled in the passport application form.
