Who needs identity certificate for passport:

Identity Certificate (IC) is akin to a 'No Objection Certificate' required to be submitted by any Passport applicant who is working in a Government Office/Public Sector Undertaking/Statutory body. This is issued by the Administrative Office/Controlling Authority of the employee where he/she is working.

 

What is the use of Identity Certificate?

It enable the bearer to travel internationally and serves as proof of identity as per the Passports Act (1967). It is mostly issued to Tibetan refugees, along with other stateless people.

 

How do I get identity certificate for passport?

Login to the Passport Seva Online Portal with the Login ID created in Step 1. Click "Apply for Identity Certificate" link. Fill in the required details in the form and submit.
