Police verification for passport reissue:

Under new policies, police verification is not required for reissue/renewal of passport if the applicant submits the renewal application before his/her current passport expires. Additionally, the applicant's previous police verification should be clear and he/she should have no criminal cases against him/her.


Will there be police verification for Indian passport?

A:Fresh police verification would take place if you apply for re-issue of passport after expiry of old passport more than three years ago. Processing time depand on availability of clear Police Verification report from Concerned Authority in India. 


What will happen if we miss police verification for passport?

The officer will tell you to write down the reason for not showing up for the verification and go for another counter. Write down the reason with your signature and date at the end and submit it to the said counter. The officer will scan it and hand you the paper and tell you to visit another counter.
