How can I renew my passport in India?

  • Register for the passport renewal on passport Seva's official website - www.passportindia.gov.in.
  • After logging into your passport account, click on the option 'Apply for Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport'
  • Now fill up the appicition from for passport renewal
  • Further, click on the option Schedule Appointment' to book a slot as per your convenience
  • Visit the passport centre along with necessary documents on the scheduled date and time

The passport operations at select Passport Seva Kendras have been resumed. Apply for renewal of a passport during the Covid- 19 lockdown.


Ø   Can we travel with expired Indian passport?

Airline will deny you boarding with expired passport. Only thing you can do is go to nearest Indian embassy and renew the passport. It can take two weeks. If it is urgent to travel, you can directly approach the consulate and they will provide an emeregency document that is valid only for returning to India.
